Chapter 1: Initial Reflections
For those who have been on this platform for a while, feel free to skip ahead; I wouldn’t want to seem out of place. Now, let’s dive right in. It may take several days to receive feedback from a publication, and that’s perfectly fine. Remember, patience is essential. If you've sent an article for publication, kudos to you! If you feel stuck, take a moment to verify your submission process. Make sure to select the desired publication from the three-dot menu and hit Publish. Yes, that crucial Publish button! I overlooked that step myself at first.
My Draft Folder has suddenly filled up, but that’s a good sign; no need to rush into publishing everything simultaneously. I’m astonished by writers who began just three weeks ago and have already amassed over 4,000 followers. What’s their secret? Congratulations to them, but seriously, how do they manage it? Do they not have other commitments?
It baffles me to see articles that receive 80 claps yet only have 2 views. If you've authored a book, you can apply for Verified Author status on Medium—definitely on my to-do list. I set up a Stripe account and completed the tax form, though I’m unsure if I did everything correctly. I’ve noticed that it sometimes takes a while for my earnings from reads to appear on the dashboard.
I've come across numerous fantastic articles and am eager to find even more. Every day brings new discoveries, and it’s quite thrilling!
I'm still working on finding my unique style here on Medium. Previously, I only wrote on Instagram, but with recent algorithm changes, it felt less rewarding. Now that I'm here, I can confidently say after just one week that I enjoy it and plan to stick around for the long haul.
Join me as I explore new horizons through my writing.
