Chapter 1: Reconnecting with the Markets

Today marks the beginning of my return to actively engaging with market analysis since November 2021. Over this time, many changes have occurred, but the most significant one is that I transitioned my investments to cash.

As I embark on this journey, I want to take a moment to say "hello again!" to myself. For those unfamiliar with me—though I’m not quite sure who else might read this—I’m Carolina. I wear many hats, but the one that resonates the most is being a frustrated millennial who expected to be in a managerial role by now, yet struggles to find a suitable job.

Being an introvert is no secret, and I often grapple with impostor syndrome. After a two-year break exploring various self-employment avenues (while largely disregarding my educational background), my focus continually returns to the stock market and the chaotic state of politics.

Prior to my full-time role as a volunteer financial and political news analyst, I was employed as a buy-side Investment Analyst—constantly questioning, "Why should I invest in this?"—and as a Reporting Manager, where my role was essentially paid doom-scrolling on behalf of others.

I have a passion for consuming news, magazines, and books, so why not delve into the madness of our current times to forecast what lies ahead? While earning from companies has its appeal (having worked with large corporations for over ten years), rather than conforming to the mold of those who can effortlessly secure jobs today—those who are fit, impeccably dressed, articulate, and seemingly born to "drive strategies"—I choose to channel my energy into a path that feels more authentic:

Absorbing information, deciphering events and market trends, and potentially profiting from it—though I might just as easily leave some behind.

In the coming days, I plan to share nearly daily updates on:

• Observations about people (a.k.a. people-watching)
