Exploring the True Essence of Science Through Biblical Wisdom

Chapter 1: The Biblical Perspective on Science
In the realm of theology, there is immense value in delving into the scriptures.
Referencing Daniel 1:4 (KJV):
"Children in whom was no blemish, but well-favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans."
The term "science" has undergone significant transformation over the years. It could almost be deemed "outdated." Originally, in Hebrew, it signifies “intellect, knowledge, and reasoning.”
During my youth, science was defined by what could be observed, replicated, and validated.
In contrast, today's definition of science has expanded to encompass whatever contemporary scientific elites endorse. Notably, modern science struggles to observe or reproduce certain phenomena, such as evolution, yet it is accepted as a fact by the scientific community. Thus, their designation makes it "science."
When discussing Daniel, it's essential to note that the meaning of science differs from our common understanding. Barnes elucidates, “They were not a society renowned for ‘science’ as we interpret it today—encompassing fields like astronomy, chemistry, geology, mathematics, and electricity. Instead, their knowledge was primarily rooted in music, architecture, natural history, agriculture, ethics, theology, military strategy, and predictions of future events.”
Exploring the Bible reveals a wealth of insights and lessons that reflect true science.
